Excellent jigsaw, 2010-03-14
Not sure a review is really required for a jigsaw, but my kids love jigsaws, and this one is their all time favourite. They must have done it more than 50 times each at around age 2. The pieces are a good size for a 2yo, the illustration is very colourful, and the picture is full of interest. They even learned about many new animals from this - such as flamingoes, iguanas and toucans. If you are like us, you'll need a good selection of jigsaws to do back to back, but this one is the best we've found so far.

This jigsaw mat seems to work pretty well. Havent used it loads yet but does what it is supposed to and was cheaper than any of the others.

My 2 1/2 year was given this game for christmas and we play it constantly. She the loves the brightly coloured dinosaurs. She had been struggling with sharing anything but threw playing the game has discovered sharing and taking turns can be fun. She likes both games but the shape game is the favourite. I think the age 3-6 might be a bit young as is more appropriate to the young end of this age range.

First played the game on a 'girls' only ski trip. Very easy to pack, take and play anywhere. Very easy simple rules, can be played as individuals or teams. Great fun. Bought bananagrams when I returned home, played it lots with my 3 children (aged 17, 15 and 11) A quick entertaining game that people can dip into or out of

Great supplemental learning tool, 2010-01-04
I bought this as a supplement to my esl classes. I had bought the Math BrainBox first, but found it a bit too specialized. The World Brain Box is wonderful. The cards are very durable, full of colors, the pictures are well done and the captions very clear. The box itself is very inviting and my students can't wait to finish the main part of the lesson so that they can play and there are really interesting facts about each country that intrigue them. The ten seconds that the game allows to 'memorize' as many of the facts on the cards as possible is pretty dauting, but I just turn over the timer a couple of times so that they can absorb more. In any case, they improve quickly as they get the nack of the game. It's a different way to work on their comprehension as they have to listen carefully to the questions I ask. With the younger ones I'll ask questions I'm pretty sure they can answer and leave out the more difficult ones, with the older ones, they get whichever question the dice calls for!
I'm really pleased with the addition. I've used it for all of my students, which means from 9-year-olds to adults. With the adults I let them read the questions themselves so it's not so much a test but a way to learn that's less intimidating. Once you go through all the cards it's probably time to move on to something else, but there are a lot of cards and if you have a lot of students, or your children are perfectionists and like to repeat them, it's a very worthwhile investment.

Rubik's Cube, 2010-01-12
Purchased as a Christmas present to try and help my 10 year old Son to concentrate and build his self confidence, this cube has helped me achieve this and has kept him off the Play Station, Wii and DS as well!

Solving the cube was not easy for me or him, so I do think that you should consider obtaining a solution and there are several books readily available that can meet the need.

I recommend : You Can Do the Cube that we found really useful.

All in all an excellent product that has stood the test of time. I highly recommed that you get one!
