Because of small parts, not suitable for children under the age of 3 years
Great vintage classic fun for everyone!, 2008-11-25
One of the oldest games still on the market, and has been around for many years. It's a simple, but exciting family game based on pure luck.
Each Player slots one of their swords into the barrel that contains 'Jolly Roger' the Pirate. If you're unlucky, you've chosen the wrong slot, and 'yikes' up pops 'Jolly Roger' - you lose!
This game is great because it's a randomly-chosen slot that's selected by the clever mechanism on every single game, and so nobody can cheat or predict who will win and who will lose! An amazingly simple idea, but it's what makes this game work and so popular.
The components are attractive and brightly coloured, and the barrel itself is extremely robust.
I think I'm right in saying that this game has never been out of production since it was first made - and this only applies to a mere handful of games still on the market today. These include famous titles such as 'Monopoly' and 'Cluedo'.

This bumper colouring book is guaranteed to keep you happy for hours on end. With 160 pages of animal, people, transport and scenery images, there's so much to colour in you won't know where to begin.
For ages 3 years and over.
Not gigantic!, 2008-11-20 This is a really good colouring book, lots of simple pictures to colour in. However this book is not gigantic in size, I think they mean gigantic in the number of pages. Its a normal A4 size book. But well worth the money.

Fun, but patience required - this is not a toy for young children, 2008-12-28 This is an excellent little flying machine. It requires patience and concentration, but long flights are possible. (up to 5 minutes at a go). The controls take a little getting used to, but once mastered its like a bug that you just can't get rid of, you keep going back to it for that extra bit of flight control, or hover longer over the coffee table. It is great fun, but younger people may find it a bit too difficult to master and get bored with it quickly. I love it, and I am just off to fly round the living room again.

With rules similar to gin rummy, Rummikub is a classic tile game that's guaranteed to get at least a million kid-hours of use in any family. Players take 14 numbered tiles and try to get rid of them as fast as possible by creating runs (for example, 7-8-9) and sets (7-7-7). The most fun aspect of the game--and the part that's best for creative strategic thinking--is that you can pilfer from and rearrange the efforts of other players in your attempts to part company with more tiles. --Richard Farr
Modern classic, 2008-07-21 There are thousands of new games every year. Most of them disappear without a trace. Some acquire a devoted but small following. Just a few become classics. Rummikub is one these.
Invented in Romania in 1940, Rummikub is essentially a tile version of the traditional card game Rummy. It didn't really make it internationally until the 1970s, but by 1980 it had won a string of awards and established itself as a great family game.
Basically, it's about creating sets of three or more in a row of tiles either in runs of the same colour (1-2-3-4 etc), or the same number but in different colours. The winner is the person who gets rid of all their tiles first. The clever bit is that you can rearrange the tiles already on the board in order to place your own tiles, and the final score is the total of everyone else's leftover tiles after you've finished.
You might be wondering either i) what's all the fuss about or ii) why not just get a pack of playing cards and play regular Gin-Rummy?
First off, this is a genuinely addictive game which relies more on observation and logic than on chance, which you can learn in minutes but takes months (or more) to master. Quite small children can play it, but it's also a very challenging game for competitive adults. It's completely international, and can be played without having a single word in common with the other players.
Second, the design of the tiles makes this a much more satisfying game than Gin-Rummy. Cards are always a bit fiddly for complicated rearranging games, and this is especially the case for a game aimed at different ages. If you're a real games fanatic, you may find Mah-Jongg a better choice, but Mah-Jongg is too complicated to explain to most young children, and takes too long to quickly introduce to visiting friends.
Rummikub is one of a very few games that holds its interest for years and years.
Strongly recommended, and also highly educational.

Brilliant!, 2009-01-02 It's so simply made but it works so well and is so durable. At first when I looked at it I was thinking how you could slightly see through theing to draw fabric and see the rainbow pattern behind it. Doesn't matter, it's not that transparent. My daughter is the next Picasso or Dali and our expencive carpet in the lounge and our very expencive calf skin settee goes to show... they are full of red lipstick and nailpolish, whatever, however, my daughetr has been able to get to something to draw with. The anger and frustration goes unmentioned but thanks to this product her artful desires are stilled, finally!
Not much water is needed for the toy and once my daughter knew how to do it she could do it on her own. It doesn't take too long for it all to dry, unless you soaked it with too much water in your brushes, etc. It's also very educational as I can draw and write everything she needs to know for when she starts school. I've taught her to draw forests easily, write the number 2 over and over again and so on.
There isn't any end to what you can do with this toy and there is no chemicals, no mess and it can be brought so easily on holidays. A very wonderful toy.

Fantastic, 2009-01-02 I bought this for my four year old for Christmas, and she hasnt put it down. It's kept her amused for hours at a time. She has now memorised the Ozzie Otter book that comes with it and loves using the pen to help her with words she doesnt recognise. I would recommend this product to anyone as my little girl thoroughly enjoys using it, and has really come on with her reading in the short week she has had it!

Move over every other game ever invented and make way for the classic board game by which all others are judged. Monopoly is the absolute timeless family game. It's a game about strategy, chance, luck and ultimately about greed. Invented during the Great Depression in 1934, Monopoly has since been translated into 26 different languages and has sold over 200 million sets worldwide. It's a small wonder that most people have grown up with Monopoly. Monopoly, with its thrilling property-owning rules and objectives, is highly educational. For early Monopoly beginners of seven years, it encourages arithmetic skills. At the same time it teaches older players ab...
