My 3 year old son loves this toy!!Very durable and has been played with over and over again.It doesnt come with figurines but we have had Spiderman Woody and Jack Sparrow sail the seven seas with this ship,Might seem expensive but you can easily spend the same amount on an electronic toy that breaks with the first launch across the room.There is some assembley but I had it together in ten minutes.The bottom of the ship is hollow so you can store the pirates inside whilst you arent playing with it,the anchor lowers and the wheel actually turns.Very well built and even the paintwork hasnt chipped despite my sons rough handling.If you want a fun toy that will encourage your childs imagination and withstand hours of play then buy this.

My 4 year old son got this on his birthday. He loves it. It is very well made -very durable. Batteries (supplied) seem to last forever. Quite speedy, and pulls a long line of carriages. Having the ability to control and initiate movement of trains adds greatly to the excitement of the Brio system. Highly recommended.

Educational but fun., 2010-01-09
I bought these for my almost 2 year old for xmas. He could thread them even without being shown but actually gets more fun from playing them without the cord. They engage him for ages, I ask him which is the fire engine, dumptruck etc and he loves pointing at the correct one and getting lots of praise, I am now using them for colour recognition. My only criticism is that I think the paint will get quite chipped with time as it is already flaking in parts. Lovely item with lots of uses. I think the whole range is fun and very bright. Recommended.

I really like this le toy london set and so does my daughter (nearly 2 but I think she'll like 'em for ages to come). They are solid, colourful and nice to handle and make a nice traffic jam which, if you live in a large city (London?) then your kids will know all about such things and enjoy recreating them on the floor! Nice present and/or nice to own. I think we'll probably get her the le toy garage for her birthday so she can expand her play with them. By the way - They don't have any opening doors or anything but each one has a little hole in the back which I presume is for the petrol pump to fit into if you get the garage. They are quite light so wouldn't do terrible harm if chucked and seem pretty well made.

Nice first Thomas set, 2010-06-03
Got this for my son's second birthday - he loves having some of the engines he knows. They're all pretty well made and nice attention to detail. Track supplied is very basic but he uses it with compatible sets of track we've got from elsewhere.

This wooden track extension pack is brilliant. It did indeed merge comfortably with my sons other wooden sets and has been a FANTASTIC addition to my little mans track. Good value for money and definitely worth buying!!

Fab fire engine, 2010-08-22
This fire engine is far better than I imagined. It is a really really good quality toy that I can imagine my boisterous nephew will still have in a few years time. It will be missing some of its smaller parts and will have a few chips but it will still be going strong. He absolutely loves it and has already pretended to put out fires in all of his sisters dolls houses, cars etc etc. Brilliant! If you are thinking about getting it and are happy to pay the price (which it is worth) then do it. I can't imagine a better fire engine than this.
