My son is only 7 so I got him the compact Ripster.It wasn't easy at first but after watching the DVD inclosed he soon got going.Much better than your typical Skateboard.

Essential for a child learning to ride a skateboard, roller skates, bike or scooter, 2010-01-29
Today is my daughters 5th Birthday, amongst other things she got a skateboard and these knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards. She was delighted to get the skateboard, but confused with the safety gear.

When she wanted to try her new skateboard we put the pads on her and she looked very proud when we eventually got them all on. it takes a little time the first time, particularly since it comes with no guidance on how to put them on. But we worked it out. Without these, I would have been concerned about her learning to ride a skateboard. The peace of mind alone is worth the money of buying them.

My daughter has made a lot of use of her new pads. She can put them on by herself, which is a bonus, and she loves the fact that they are pink. My niece also has the same set and uses hers regularly, too. They have saved some clothing repairs and bruised knees already!

rip stick'G'Grind Castor board, 2010-01-09
The Rip Stick was excellent,just what my grandson wanted,he was over the moon with it as i was at the price.I never thought i was going to get one until someone told me of your site. And it was a special Edition which was brilliant.

Review of Ripstik Ripster, 2010-01-02
This is a really cool product. Purchased two at christmas, one for my son and one for my nephew aged 7 and 11. They are having great fun learning how to use it, and the DVD that comes with the product has some excellent tips on how to get going. I will say though it's not easy. With only two wheels, a sence of balance is an absolute must, but it didn't take the boys long to master it. Saftey gear is also a must!!!!
Overall I think this product is great and at such a great price too. Cheapest I could find anywhere with most places retailing it at 3 times as much. Also Amazon delivered super fast. Fab. Thanks Amazon!!!
