First thing I noticed when I started taking the pup out the box was how soft it was. The name tag on the dog lights up red constantly making it really attractive to look at. Downloading my niece's name was easy as well as downloading her favourite food and pet etc.
The website you download these updates from is really easy to use and has a good simple interface.
When the pup speaks it incorporates your baby's name into the preset conversations and it does catch the attention of the said baby - in this case, my niece, Olivia. The dog has a nice funny, almost cartoonish, bark every so often and is not at all annoying and is at a good volume level.
If it was three times the price you would probably not complain of your purchase, but at the price it is you will be very happy with it and your baby will love it for years to come.

Good Quality Toy, 2010-06-13
I bought this toy 2 years ago. It has been used often in the last 2 years for my first son, then my second son.
The toy has been spun thousands of times, and been dropped on the floor several times - and it is still working well, looking as good now as when it came out the box - excellent quality.
I am not sure if it has been so helpful in teaching letters - I think the Clickstart computer from Leapfrog is best for that (my son started using the computer on his 2nd birthday, and it has been really great). In addition to strongly recommending this toy, I strongly suggest to other parents to buy a Cickstart computer and also to go for the Tag pen (I went for the normal looking pen, the fat pen for babies looked a bit silly, and I've been told by someone in a Leapfrog store that the normal looking pen works on the baby books).
I also bought the Leapfrog drum, but although the quality was once again excellent it hasn't been used quite as much as this spinning toy - so when I moved country I left the drum behind.

Great magnetic fridge toy. The 26 alphabet letters can make words on the fridge, or, if put in the holder, makes the letter sound phonetically (b says 'buh'). Great way to learn letters and plays songs too. 24 months +
Keeps my son entertained, 2010-06-23
Bought this for my 18 month old and it keeps him entertained for ages. As with all toys it irritates me after the 20th time of "a makes ah"!!

when I saw this frog immediately I wanted to buy it.I read the opinions and I bought it.Yesterday I had the frog,it is fantastic.I 'm looking forward to giving it to my little grandson and I'm sure he will learn English colours,numbers and songs!

This was my little girl's first soft toy and has been so well loved by her from day one. The idea of being able to personalise him was what first caught my attention. It's so easy to do as well, just plug him in to your computer by USB and it brings up a step by step guide, which can be followed by even a computer illiterate like me. So once he's clued up on what your baby likes and doesn't like, he's ready to be loved.
Whatever my baby's mood, she can be cheered up by one press of Scout's paw. She especially likes the songs and it's great that you can add or remove songs - and every other song contains your baby's name.

This product was significantly less expensive than other similar items. Bought for my 9 month old son, he loves it and it has really improved his balance. Only downside is that he tends to pull it over if he tries to pull up to standing with it, so needs to be supervised.

I love this toy. My son got it at 1 month old. At the time, he wasn't too interested in it. At 4 months old, he loves the noises/music it makes. Also, he plays with the toys at the bottom. Once he can push the buttons for himself, it will be nice. He plays with this toy daily and we are still on the first set of batteries, which is nice. It has two straps on the back to allow it to hang on things, but I just set it in his lap or lay it on the floor for him to play with.

I bought this for my three and a half year old son, who is learning about letter sounds at pre-school.
I wanted something which reinforced what he was learning and I wasn't disappointed. This toy gives the sounds and names of the letters when you put them in.
A slight problem I have found is that my son wants to create words already and he expects there to be a word when he puts 'in any 3 letters' as it asks him to do. We get around this by limiting the number of letters on the fridge at any one time and explaining that for now he needs a red letter in the middle.
The toy is robust and sticks well to our fridge.
